Campus and Community

Prepared to lead

A message from Dean Patricia Kinser, Ph.D.

Dear Alumni and Friends,

Welcome to the latest issue of our alumni magazine. As I reflect on the incredible work happening within our walls and out in the communities you serve, I am continually inspired by the resilience, compassion and leadership that define our profession.

Healthcare is evolving rapidly, and the VCU School of Nursing is innovating to meet those challenges head-on. As we expand our educational offerings—including our new licensure pathway programs—our mission remains grounded in the same core values that guided your own education. We are preparing the next generation of nurses not just to meet the demands of today’s healthcare system, but to lead its transformation tomorrow.

You are our greatest ambassadors, and your continued excellence elevates the reputation of our entire community.

Yet, the true measure of our institution's success is found in you. Whether you are at the bedside, in the boardroom, shaping public health policy or educating future nurses, your daily impact is profound. You are our greatest ambassadors, and your continued excellence elevates the reputation of our entire community.

I hope the stories in these pages make you proud to be part of our alumni family. Thank you for your unwavering dedication to the nursing profession and your continued support of our school.

With warmest regards,
